Glenn E. Cooper
Glenn E. Cooper has a lifetime of experiences in helping others. Prior to attending law school, Glenn was a social worker with his emphasis in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. As an attorney, he has actively defended his clients through criminal defense and domestic law for the last 30 years. He has also had a thriving immigration law practice for the past 10 years.
Mr. Cooper’s concern for people and families propelled him into all family law cases including custody cases, family violence, child support and divorce. Further, Mr. Cooper’s practice has an emphasis in criminal defense, from all misdemeanors to all felonies where he is ready to take all cases to jury trial thereby aggressively representing his clients. However, he also realizes that his negotiation skills are just as important as his trial skills in negotiating the best resolution for his clients. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Atlanta Law School in 1987 and decided to practice in Georgia. He favored Georgia due to the compassionate, knowledgeable judges whom he believes are the best in the country.
Volunteerism is another priority in Mr. Cooper’s profession. He is a firm believer in counseling before divorce, and is very aware of the effects that divorce has on children. His team is available to counsel clients going through these difficult life situations. Mr. Cooper also has the honor of being appointed by many judges as a Guardian ad Litem to assist the courts in custody disputes and ascertain what is in the best interest of the children and report his results to the judge. He has also been the recipient of the Pro Bono Project Award.
A litigation/trial attorney by profession, Mr. Cooper has set himself above many other family practice lawyers. He has an unwavering belief that people should try to mediate and resolve issues before going through a divorce, and he is committed to making his clients’ experiences less traumatizing. However, Mr. Cooper also realizes that many cases must be aggressively litigated and he has earned the respect from the Courts and other attorneys and is ready to take all cases to trial and be relentless in his representation.
Mr. Cooper sits on the Family Court as a Fulton County Superior Court appointed judge.
Mr. Cooper is a member of The Association Trial Lawyers of America, the Atlanta Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Gwinnett County Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and is licensed in every court in Georgia, up to the Supreme Court.
